Earning a nickname of "Scotland's Alternative Music Festival", the ''Wickerman Festival'' is a family friendly music festival that has always provided a varied line up since its 2001 release.

The festival has been likened to Glastonbury for its eclectic line up that provides something for everyone.

Vibe

Wickerman has a cult following, so expect an atmosphere where everybody feels as if they are part of something special. This makes for an environment which brings the best out of people.

Stages and other entertainment

There are ten stages at the festival: The Summerisle Stage, The Acoustic Village Stage, The Reggae Axis Tent, The Bass Camp which features The Skiddle.com tent, The Ho Down Wendy House, The Headphone Arena which features a silent disco, The Greenman Inn, The Scooter Tent and the Solus tent whuich feature up and coming Scottish Bands. There is also a cinema and a crafts tent, for those who want to try something different.

The Wickerman Festival takes place at East Kirkcarswell, near Dundrennan, in Scotland.

Travel

For those of you relying on the directional guidance of a satellite navigational system the postcode that holds the key is DG6 4QW.

If flying it’s best to fly to Glasgow airport.

If coming by car head South from Glasgow on the M74, leave the M74 at Junction 15 then follow A701 to Dumfries, through Dumfries, follow A75 towards Stranraer then take the A711 for Kirkcudbright. Through Kirkcudbright, stay on the A711 heading for Dundrennan. Through Dundrennan stay on the A711 and the Festival is on your left.

If coming by train head to Kirkcudbright, Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas stations.

Camping

Entry to the campsite is included in the price of the festival ticket. There is also the option to buy a a down’n’dirty toilet and shower pass which provides better sanitary positions.

There’s also the option of going for the luxury camping field for those who want to experience with a degree of comfort. There are three types of luxury camping avalaible; The Black Dog Tipis, Cloudhouses and Yurts.

Site Information

The festival has disability access with disabled toilets available throughout the site.

Access to the campsite is available throughout the duration of the festival although the Arena will be closed each morning before the music starts so that the organisers can make sure it’s nice and tidy when you enter.

Food and drink

There’s food to cater to all types and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) available throughout the site.
