HISTORY & FACTS
Founded in 2008, Psych Fest was initially a tiny independent event, which has now grown to attract attendees from all over the world. In past years, it was held around the same time as SXSW, which made it very difficult for attendees to book accommodation and flights. It has since moved to later in the calendar year.
Its sister festival, Levitation, is held in Angers, France, across two days in September.
TICKETS & TRAVEL
General tickets have yet to go on sale, but a limited number of pre-sale weekend passes for Psych Fest 2014 can currently be purchased on the main festival website for a discounted price of $120.
Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable.
Austin operates an extensive and reliable bus service, which runs from its airport, so travelling around the city or straight to the festival upon arrival can be very affordable.
It's recommended that you avoid taxi journeys, which can be very expensive in and around Austin. This may also affect where you decide to stay - cheaper hotels may be further out of the city centre, but may also warrant more expensive taxi journeys.
If you're travelling from the UK, book flights as far in advance as possible to avoid expensive flights. If you're travelling within North America, it may be worth considering car pooling, which can be considerably cheaper than flights.
Austin Psych Fest is an all-ages festival, but under-18s must be accompanied by their parents or a legal guardian, without exception.
Children under the age of 13 may attend the festival for free.
WHAT TO WEAR
Camping is only available to weekend pass holders, and those with children must camp in family camping.

Tent rental packages are also available.
The campsite opens on the first day of the festival at 9am, and closes on the day after the festival's final day at 2pm.
FOOD AND DRINK
