Hard Rock Calling

Soooo... Soundgarden are the latest headliner announced for Hard Rock Calling...

But I can't help but think... is that SERIOUSLY going to have any demand???

I am being honest here, it is not just a personal taste thing. I really don't think Soundgarden seriously have the ability to shift what, 50,000 plus tickets?

I mean I thought this festival was reserved for HUGE classic acts? I mean don't get me wrong I know Soundgarden are 'classic' but they are hardly 'huge'. Right? Especially in the UK?

I mean, they are alongside Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon. They are both worthy of headline slots. But I seriously don't get Soundgarden! I mean maybe second or third on the line up, sure, but HEADLINING???

I am probably extra peeved as I heard it was going to be Neil Young which would have sold the whole weekend to me. So this is like the hugest anti climax EVER ha ha.

So what do you guys think of this announcement? Is it just me? Am I missing on something here? Are Soundgarden, unbeknownst to me, actually huge? Ha ha!

So I have heard a rumour some of these dates are selling really badly. I can see us having another cancellation on our hands here if we are not careful. To be honest, it doesn't surprise me, Soundgarden nor Paul Simon are really big deals anymore right? I expect Bruce's date will sell out though.
