Taking place over 3 days, Playgroup Festival is small and friendly friendly event filled with magical moments for all of the family.
With an expected attendance of only 2,000 guests, the intimate atmosphere allows for an interesting chance to witness the South-East’s array of musical and artistic talents.
TThe line-up involves over walkabout performers, DJs, installation artists, cabaret performers and others. These include DJ Yoda, Alice Russell, Reso, Anchorsong, Herbaliser, Nedry, DJ Format, Prince Fatty, Quemists, High Rankin (Live), Hidden Orchestra, The Correspondents, Resonators, Belleruche, Atomic Drop, King Porter Stomp, Lazy Habits, AK-DK, Reeps One, Donkey Pitch, Carnival Collective, Los Albertos, Kalakuta Millionaires, GAGGLE, King Lagoons and many more!
The 2011 line-up involved over 350 musicians, walkabout performers, DJs, installation artists, cabaret performers and others. History and Facts
Playgroup Festival started in 2010 and is held annually at a secret location. It's being organised by Playgroup, a small Brighton collective, who have been running events in the region for years.
Children are welcome at this event. However, all people under the age of 18, must be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian aged 21 or older. All children require festival tickets, which must be bought in advance by their accompanying adult, under 12’s are FREE (but still require a booked ticket online).
The bars will accept credit and debit cards, and cashback should also be available.
NO FIRES or BBQ’s are allowed onsite at all – apart from one campfire organised and managed by the event staff.
Music Stages and Other Entertainment
With an expected attendance of only 2,000 guests, there is a handful of stages for live music, magical mystery tour buses, a cinema tent, installation art, fresh local produce, a family area, cabaret and walkabout performance, workshops and games and a healing area.
In terms of music, expect swing, gypsy swing, glitch-hop, funk, soul, samba, dubstep, reggae, klezmer, carnival sounds, drum and bass, electro-swing, jive, jazz, mash-up, breaks, hip-hop, electro, synth-pop, ska, skweee, folk, beatboxing, looping, rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly, cinematic rock and much, much more – performed live by over 70 different bands.
