Brownstock Festival is a local ‘home-grown’ boutique festival run by the Brown family on their farm in Essex.
The festival prides itself in having a great line up while at the same time maintaining the intimate family feel and rustic uniqueness of the festival.

The festival organisers describe the festival as an ‘overgrown family party’ and this is the vibe the festival creates.
Set in the rustic backdrop of the Brown Farm, Chelmsford, in Essex the Brownstock festival is a friendly, laid back and intimate affair.
Apart from an impressive line up, there are many other fun outdoor activities organised at the festival including skateramps, kids stuff, stand up comedy, story telling and much more.
History and Facts
The Festival started 6 years ago, when the Brown family opened the farm gates for 100 friends, providing 10 straw bales, 2 BBQs and 1 trailer for a stage.
Since then the festival has grown each year. The organisers are now considering increasing the attendance to 10,000 in 2012.

The campsite will offer a reasonably priced off licence with a selection of alcoholic drinks as well as other amenities.
Music Stages and Other Entertainment
As well as the main stage and Good Shed (where the DJs perform) there is a round the clock silent disco, a busker's corner where anyone can go to jam, a skate park for skaters, BMX bikers and free runners, fancy dress, comedy shows,a pantomime and an art camp where you can go to paint or take anything you want graffiti adding to.
Food and Drink
Farmer Brown's Food Village includes home raised Aberdeen Angus burgers, Jimmy's Farm Foods, Shaken Udder Milkshakes and stone fired pizzas, as well as vegetarian options.
Alcohol is allowed into the festival on the Friday, with a limit of 12 cans or 1 box of wine per person. There is also an off license on the campsite so you can stock up when what you have brought with you runs out.
Camping and Other Accommodation
Camping facilities are included in the weekend camping ticket price and the campsite opens on the Friday at 4pm.

From London Liverpool Street to South Woodham Ferrers (the nearest station to the festival) only takes 45-50 mins, and from there it is a 2 minute taxi ride or a 20 minute walk.
The festival is accessible by car from the M25, A12/A130 and A13/A130 and the festival is clearly signposted. There is a £5 charge for car parking but no need top book in advance. There is a £3 tax to leave the festival and return in your car over the course of the weekend, which is donated to the local village.
