Beach Break Live

Breach Break live is a three day holiday festival held in Newquay. Each year sees around 18,000 students travelling from across the country to celebrate the end of exams and the beginning of summer.

The festival prides in bringing complimenting music with sports, film, theatre and the beach and featuring new and emerging student talent.

2013 sees the introduction of a new concept where the festival takes over the local area.

With over 700 festivals taking place in the UK each year, it is no longer acceptable to simply provide a green grass festival to several thousand ticket holders. Beach Break Live’s 2013 Program will transform the idea of a traditional festival format and location.

Stages and other entertainment

Taking over Newquay to become the first UK Music Holiday, Beach Break Live has announced a plethora of entertainment including a main stage on the award winning Fistral Beach for the first time ever, secret sets in greasy spoons, feverish DJ’s in classic clubs, hidden rooftop raves, beach discos, boat parties and more.

Glamping, camping and caravans will all be available for those wanting to retain some of the elements of a traditional festival while Beach Breakers are encouraged to use local businesses, accommodation and facilities wherever possible during their stay in Newquay.

Revelers will be transported to a seaside heaven with pool parties, street art, circus, comedy, exclusive after party’s hosted by the likes of Hospitality, Digital Soundboy and Rinse FM, pasty parties, harbor side cinema, theatre, extreme sports, laser shows and much more.

Location

The festival happens at the Pembrey Country Park which boasts of 500 acres of epic wood lined parkland nestling behind the dunes of the award winning Cefn Sidan Sands beach, and is surrounded by 2,000 acres of stunning forestry.

Travel

There are a number of ways of getting to Beach Break Live. The Country Park can be found just off the A484 Llanelli to Carmarthen coast road just outside Burry Port.

The Park is approximately a half hour drive from Carmarthen and a similar distance from Junction 48 M4. Follow the Brown directional signs.

When you book your BBL ticket you must choose a transport option to complete your booking. There are 3 types available.

TRAIN SHUTTLE

Every year the festival provides a shuttle bus from the local train station - Pembrey & Burry Port. The shuttle service is £8 and run every 30-40 mins.

PARK & RIDE

The Park & Ride transport option is for those traveling to the festival by car, van or moped. This facility is £10 for each person travelling and provides secure parking including 24 hour CCTV and manned security throughout the duration of the festival.

NATIONAL COACHES

Beach Break Live provides return coaches from many towns and cities throughout the United Kingdom. If you require a return coach simply choose the city you wish to depart from in the transport section of the booking page.

Camping

There is a big camp site for all festival goers. However 6-man tents are the biggest tents that are allowed to take.

The festival also has a luxury camping site, the Blue Bell Tent Village. These tents are spacious canvas bell tents with coir floors and fairy lights and will have access to private loos and showers. You have the option of choosing a standard tent, where you bring your bedding or the luxury ones with beds, with or without bedding and linen.

For those who do not wish to camp and looking for a more luxurious stay, the Ashburnham Hotels located very close to the festival venue.

Site Information

  • Cash machines are available at the festival site.
  • Charge & Store provides secure storage of valuables for your peace of mind. They also rent iPhone 4 charging cases so you can keep your phone with you while it charges. Storage space is limited, book early to avoid disappointment.

Food and drink

Festival goers are welcome to bring their food and drinks but the festival does have plenty of food stalls/stores and bars.

There is a limit on the amount of alcohol festive goers are allowed to take:

• 24 cans of beer OR Cider (500ml max).

• OR 3 x Bottles of Cider (1L bottles Max)

• OR 1 x box of wine (3L Max)

• OR 1 x 70cl bottle of spirits in a SEALED plastic bottle.

Trivia

Did you know that the Beach Break organisers appeared on BBC's hit show, The Dragons' Den back in 2008. After some fierce and interesting negotiation, the two organisers came away with investment from Peter Jones.
