Wow, so I discovered PinkPop Festival today. I have never heard of this event before but apparently it is pretty huge. It is being held in the city of Landgraaf, 134 miles from Amsterdam, in May.
Apparently this is the festival's 43rd edition?! So it has been going on for years it appears!
Headlining the event are The Cure and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. Other artists confirmed include: Kasabian, Soundgarden, Mumford & Sons, Linkin Park, The Hives,Seasick Steve, The Specials, James Morrison, Bombay Bicycle Club, Chase & Status, The Ting Tings, Mastodon, The Wombats and Keane. So quite a lot of British acts there...!
Have any of you heard of this event before? I'd love to go to a festival in the Netherlands! It is something a bit different to the usual Spanish / French / Portugal events Brits tend to choose. So hopefully it will be a bit more authentic and not full of UK tourists (ha ha, no offence, but if I am going to a festival abroad, I would want it to be filled with locals. I am concerned the likes of Primavera would be full of Brits - in which case I might as well have stuck to Glasto!).
Tickets are around 130 quid, so pretty good value!
